Our team of friendly, caring professionals is specially trained in the latest techniques in "pain free" pediatric dentistry .

We know that some children are apprehensive about receiving dental care. At Cairo Dental Center we pride ourselves on our ability to make each child as comfortable and relaxed as possible while receiving care.

First, we listen to your concerns. We then discuss different methods for making your child as comfortable as possible. Together, we lay out a treatment plan that will meet your child's needs. We have several options:

1. Our Famous Virtually Painless Injection

Most of our child patients never know they have received an injection. That's because of our famous "Virtually Painless Injection" technique.
A topical anesthetic is applied to the tissue with a swab. This anesthetic painlessly numbs the spot where the doctor will give your child one of the most gentle injections.

Injectable anesthetics, such as Lidocaine, prevent pain in a specific area of your mouth during treatment by blocking the nerves that sense or transmit pain and numbing mouth tissues.

They cause the temporary numbness often referred to as a "fat lip" feeling. Injectable anesthetics may be used in such procedures as filling cavities, preparing teeth for crowns or placing orthodontic bands for braces.
We also pride ourselves in having a variety of excellent distracting games and toys that your child can play while on the dental chair. These include Nintendo's© Game Boy, coloring books, Etch-a-Sketches, and Rose-Art. They help your child keep his or her mind occupied with a very familiar environment while unfamiliar events occur around them .

2. Oral Conscious Sedation

For the more apprehensive child, we provide a simple oral pre-medication that will relax your child without the loss of consciousness. The oral pre-medication is taken by your child at home, one hour and a half prior to his or her appointment. Upon arrival, the local anesthetic technique above described will also be used. This combination allows your child to be not only numb, but also, relaxed and sleepy. The oral conscious sedation is extremely safe for children and allows the doctors to complete, in one appointment, all of the dental care needs that your child requires. And best of all, most children do not remember any of their treatment!
